Understanding the Internet Menu Options in Your Software!
Essentially, there are two types of data transfers that can happen from your TOPS. It is important to understand the differences between the integration services so that you can ensure you are performing timely and accurate data transfers for each. Performing an "upload" for one does not affect the other. They are each individual and unique task. We hope that the information below helps to clarify some of the confusion caused with setup and maintenance.
Community Web Site Uploads
The TOPS Interactive Web Site Service provides the ability to upload certain owner maintenance and financial information to the website. As a TOPS Interactive Web Site customer, you can customize what information is posted and when that information is posted directly from the Internet menu option. This can be done from the Internet → Community Web Sites option. Once here choose "Configure Community Uploads" to customize what data is transferred. When this has been completed, you will use the "Upload Current Community" option to manually upload the data from your software to the community website.
Online Payment Uploads
The Online Payment service provides your owners with the option to make payments online through our DuesPayment service. However, it is essential to understand how to ensure that the data being transferred to our Partner, DuesPayment is current. The first step involves proper set up to define what communities are signed up for the online payment service. To do this, visit the Internet → Online Payments option. Next you will select "Community Management" to determine each community that has an approved Online Payment contract. Once completed, use the "Upload Now" option to transfer current owner account and balance information to DuesPayment. This will allow the proper owner to go online see their current balance and make a payment for that amount.
After configuration setup and manual uploads have been performed, the last important step is to set scheduled tasks to allow regular updates for both the community website and online payment services. Again, these are separate scheduled tasks that would need to be created in your TOPS Scheduler.
